Enzifarma S.A. is a leading solution provider for the healthcare industry, namely the laboratory sector.
Our headquarters and main offices are located in Lisbon but our logistic services are based in Porto, as well as our application laboratory and showroom.
We are the Portuguese distributors of a number of leading brands in the healthcare industry that guarantee our presence in the following sectors:
In the Anatomical Pathology field: Thanks to the solutions provided by our represented brands Milestone and Bio-optica, we have been able to provide our customers with technological innovation, quick diagnostics and traceability from the pre-analytical to archiving stages.
Our vacuum collection system for anatomical samples (the only solution approved to receive the IVD EC marking) guarantees sample preservation until they reach the lab. Bio-optica’s grossing stations were designed from the ground up to suit operator needs.
Combined with Milestone’s image recording systems, they allow a major qualitative leap in this field. They are compatible with Telepathology assisted gross examination and comply with all CAP guidelines and recommendations.
The use of Milestone sample tissue processors after grossing improves the speed and the quality of results while increasing compatibility with complementary differential diagnosis systems crucial for therapeutic guidance. The therapeutics in some types of breast cancer is one example of this. Bio-optica also provides dyes and staining kits that can be used to perform special stains, often required for many anatomopathological exams.
The comprehensive solutions we offer already include slides (Menzel), tips, pipettes and lab plasticware (ABDOS / FALCON). Thanks to the solutions provided by our represented brands BD Diagnostics and Bio-optica, we have been able to provide our customers with technological innovation, quick diagnostics and traceability.
In the case of Gynaecological Cytology (pap smear test) we may even consider screening. Liquid Cytology has the advantage of simultaneously allowing for HPV screening and typing. This can be achieved in parallel or reflexively.
The HPV typing method carried out on the flask the sample was collected allows an initial or reflex typing of the liquid cytology. 99% of cervix cancers are now considered to be related to high-risk HPV infection or co-infection.
